What is Preply Canvas?

Preply Canvas is the next big step in making it easier — and more impactful — to plan, deliver, and personalize your lessons. While we’re still building the full experience, you can start using the very first part of Canvas today: a simple, built-in text editor, available right inside the Preply Classroom.

This text editor is your space to write lesson plans, create exercises and take live notes, all without switching tabs or using external tools. While the tool is simple today, it’s just the starting point. Canvas will grow into a rich, interactive workspace designed to help you visualize ideas, collaborate with learners in real time, and bring your lessons to life — all in one place.

We’re still in the early stages, and your feedback will help shape what comes next. Try the tool in your lessons, explore what’s helpful (and what’s missing), and let us know what you’d love to see your Canvas do.

Canvas gives you a distraction-free writing space that helps you focus on what matters — your content and your student.

✍️ Rich formatting made simple

Add headings, bullet points, highlights, links, and more. The intuitive toolbar helps you format clearly without getting in the way. Also, you don't have to worry about saving because your content gets saved automatically.

💬 Collaborative in real-time

Canvas is live and editable during the lesson. You and your student can write, edit, and engage — together. This enhances learner autonomy, which we know is key to long-term retention. 

Your student can also access their Canvas outside of lesson time for revision.

Where can you find it?

Canvas is already available in Preply Classroom. Just open any lesson, and you’ll see it at the bottom of your screen.

We heard you. You needed a tool that works with your methodology, not against it. Preply Canvas was designed to make teaching smoother, more personal, and more professional. When your tools get out of the way, real progress takes center stage.

Meet your new AI assistant

Canvas also includes a built-in AI tool — designed to help you create tasks and save time preparing lesson content. You can ask it to create different types of activities (grammar, vocabulary, reading or writing.) It’s optional, intuitive, and here to support your teaching — not replace it. Think of it as a thoughtful co-editor that’s always ready to lend a hand when you need it most.
